These mesh screens are marketed to fit inside the green plastic sprouting trays as a fix for smaller seeds going through the bigger holes of the white plastic tray. I was excited for this to rectify that exact situation, but in practice they don’t work at all.For one thing, they don’t actually fit inside of those green/white sprouting trays and there is a lot of bending and maneuvering to try and get them to sit flush. With all of that maneuvering you have to be careful of all the loose shares of metal sticking out from the edges as the edges are unfinished and brutally sharp and I just sliced my finger from one piece and another piece went under my nail. And after all that my arugula seeds went right through and I just lost about 1/8 cup of seeds.Overall I’m pretty angry I wasted the money on these screens as they are dangerous, ineffective, and poorly sized. Find a better solution to your small seed issue.

I wasted my money on plastic sprouting trays where the mesh was too big for the seeds. These stainless steel mesh mats are a perfect tiny mesh for sprouting. Perfect for smaller seeds like herbs and micro greens. The standard size of just over 8"x11" inch fit my trays. They are made out of food grade stainless steel that is reusable and rust resistant. The seeds don't stick and the water passes through easily. Good product.

I grew the broccoli sprout and they got on the mesh and it was hard to get it out. They were grown right in there. It took me too long not worth it. I’d rather use a paper towel.

These work great and are best for small pots because the screen is about 4 inches square. The material they're made of is quite flexible and bendable and definitely waterproof so they won't be deteriorating in your pots. The screen's holes are about 1 mm which will be good to keep moist soils from falling through the drain holes of your pots. If you need to cut them for some reason, household scissors will do the job.

I cut it to my preferable size. It is great I can grow microgreens without soil or coconut. Very easy to clean.
