Solid chain. The combination area is easy to manipulate and it locks into place nicely. The chain itself is lightweight but feels substantial. The length is perfect for locking up bikes along fences, bike racks, etc. There's is absolutely nothing you can improve on the chain as it functions well already. My son uses it everyday to lock his bike that he rides to school and he hasn't complained about its functionality. Good buy.

This is working very well for me on my eBike. I feel very comfortable using this and making sure my eBike is safe when I leave it alone, along with my hidden AirTag.

As every visit to my neighborhood NextDoor site will attest, bike theft in my city is out of control. I’m not sure how popular hand-me-down kid bikes are, but I opted for this bike lock because I figured this is at least one notch more difficult to cut than a cheap cable lock. The numbers are easy for my kid to work with, and the chain is long enough to lock the frame and at least one wheel to the bike rack at school. And not to mention it’s easier to have my 8 year old memorize 5 digits than be responsible for a key. Seems like a quality chain lock and a good deterrent snatch and grab theft that have hit others in my area.

I picked this up to secure my scooter while on campus since I don’t need a super long cable to go through my wheel, etc or get tangled up all over the place. I like its easy to set and change the combination on it and that there is no key to lose. I like the fabric and padding over the metal chain so it won’t scratch up my scooter. However, I was easily able to easily decrypt the combination on this lock. In fact, I played a game with my girlfriend where she would set a combo and I’d see how fast I could get it. I’m not the Lock Picking Lawyer from YouTube by any means, but this didn’t seem as secure as I hoped. I doubt the average person is going to be able to decode the combination. For use on campus, this is fine. Would I leave this overnight somewhere? No. But then again, if someone really wanted my scooter a simple pair of bolt cutters would get the job done too.
