I was a bit unsure about this one, only reason is it's...well dirt!But I come to learn that for indoor plants when you move them from smaller pots to larger pots, you want to change the dirt or add better soil and unbind the roots system.That being said, our local stores have dirt as well, but my neighbor who is the ultimate green thumb, told me there is no such thing as standard dirt, she bought a bag of this last year and she showed us some of her plants that she used this same very dirt in, and they were pretty impressive looking.Now to be honest, I would not be able to say one way or the other if using this brand or the big box store would have made any difference, but its my neighbor that proved that point.She swears the difference is night and day in terms of soil conditions, a pre-mixture if fertilizer, etc that this company uses.Now I know it also says for 'outdoor' plants, what's the difference?I'm impressed with the size and width of her plants inside and our green thumb is usually red from hammer strikes that we don't have any green in it, so any extra help we can get, be it dirt, fertilizer, plant types etc, i'll take it so this dirt for me..I'll use it again, maybe I'll even try the outdoor version next.

I was hoping to use this potting soil in a windowsill flower box but I can't use it as a stand alone soil.While I think I should be able to use this soil to help fill the bottom of my flower box, I don't have much hope that it would provide the best possible moist growing conditions. There is a fair amount of wood product in this soil which isn't ideal for the use I intended it for.The bag is a pretty good size and I will use it but most likely in my other flowerbeds to add some extra soil and fresh coverage to my existing bed.
