I needed a cable lock for my bike but I wanted something compact and easy to store when not used. This bicycle chain lock seemed to be perfect and I wanted to give it a try. This lock is very different from anything I have used before. It comes wrapped up around the numbers for the combination lock. When it is folded up it is very small and fits perfectly in the holder provided. You can attach the holder to the frame of your bike with the included straps. You can set the combination lock to any 4-digit number you want. The chain unwraps to be 2.6 feet in length which is perfect for most applications. You put the end of the lock into the slot on the lock and then close it. You then change the numbers to anything other than your selected code.To unlock you select your code then push the unluck button and pull out the end of the chain. When you are done with the lock it folds nicely and is very small. You can carry it in the holder or just throw it in your backpack.I am very happy with this lock. It has a very nice design, folds up tiny, and works perfectly.

PRO's:• Folds down into a roll smaller than a can of pop.• Clips into the holder easily.• Locks securely with the four digit tumbler combination.• Easy to change the combination of the lock.• The lock does not have the design flaw of other combination locks where you can "feel out" the combination.CON's:• The carrier mount for the lock takes the place of a water bottle cage which may not be ideal for everyone.

Not the beefiest lock in my collection but it seems to be more of a deterrence than a braided cable (comparison photo).Depending on which bike I ride, what I want to carry (weight and flexibility) and the level of theft deterrence I am trying to convey, I own a few different types of locks. While there is no lock that will stop a thief, this lock design may give a thief pause and slow them using a battery cutting wheel.Positives:+Cool design/concept+About as long as a steel braided cable+Folds up to a compact hexagonNegatives:-A little tricky to get the hang of folding back up. After some practice, it becomes easier.-Velcro strap are useless. They do not hold and, because the heavy weight of the lock, will slide or come apart.WIth that, you will want to either carry this lock in a backpack, or mount it to your bottle cage screw mounts. For the price, I think it is a fair deal and good theft deference.

This bike lock is heavier than I anticipated, but that hopefully means it's harder to defeat. At first I though it was made of plastic, but the links are actually plastic covered steel (I tested with a magnet). I like how compact it is with the included mount. The mount can be attached with the included straps or screwed where a water bottle cage would normally go. My bicycle has spots for two cages, but I am using both, so I opted to use the straps. The feel secure and I am happy with how the lock is stored on my bike. This is a great way to be sure I always have a bike lock handy.
