I have LOVED using this sphagnum moss as a terrarium substrate for my isopods and as a potting soil for my indoor tropical plants. It's not actual "moss" strands, it's like a soft mulchy soil, but that's just fine for the purposes I use it for. It has a nice earthy smell and absorbs water very well unlike many other bagged soil types.

I ordered this mostly curious how well it worked, and with that price I couldn't go wrong. I received it in a timely matter and was able to see for myself. It was a good sized bag, and although I can complain about it not being filled all the way, but that was understandable.It keeps humidity well, keeps it's shape when reptiles burrow, and it's only $9? 10/10 product. I haven't tried growing plants in it yet, but if you have reptiles I highly suggest this brand.

Good size bag to order on Amazon.ca - less cost that way than driving 35 miles to get at the store in city. Moist has fresh scent not musty. Being a soilless product don't let it dry out. Keep out of direct sunlight. Wear a mask if you have any allergies. Wear gloves wash your hands after handling same as any other growing medium.
