About this item

  • 3 pack of half size durable spiral notebooks, each with a unique cover and 100 sheets (200 pages) of primary ruled paper with space for drawing; these smaller composition books are 4-7/8" x 7-1/2"
  • Oxford primary journals help early writers develop legible handwriting; primary rule is 1/2" with a dotted midline; the blue top line, blue dotted midline and red baseline teach letter formation
  • These jr. size spiral bound notebooks are ideal for the littlest learners; they lay flat and flip easily, and the small size is easier for younger kids to handle and fill up the pages—no wasted space
  • Each page of this story journal has a blank drawing area to encourage younger children to associate words with pictures and elementary school students to create their own stories
  • 3 Unique covers, each with its own animal friend, are different colors (red, yellow, blue), so you can label and organize by child or subject; a quick guide inside explains letter size and alignment

Oxford Jr Primary Composition Spiral Notebooks provide an ideal canvas for younger children to practice handwriting, storytelling and early literacy skills. Each page has a large drawing space with primary ruled lines below. The primary ruling is 0.5 inches tall with a dotted midline for proper letter formation. Use the handy guide on the inside back cover for a quick explanation of proper letter formation through tall, small and fall letters. Tall letters extend above the dotted blue midline. Small letters sit on the red baseline and do not extend above the midline. Fall letters (or descending letters) drop below the red baseline. The large drawing space helps grow creative expression and visual learning. Budding artists can use pencils, pens, markers, crayons, paint, stickers and stamps to fill the space with their creations. The perfect learn to write companion, this kids journal improves fine motor skills and sight word mastery through writing and drawing. This assorted color 3 pack features bright covers with cute, playful animals and label area for name, subject or project. These story journals are half the size of a standard composition book. This smaller size (4-7/8" x 7-1/2") notebook is easier to handle and the page area is easier to fill up (no more wasted space!). Sturdy composition book paper handles ink pens, colored pencils, markers, and crayons for fun writing practice. The spiral binding brings the best of a spiral notebook to a composition book. They have the sturdiness of a composition book with the lay-flat writing benefit of a coil notebook. A must-have for your school supplies list! 100 sheets/200 pages. Pack of 3 notebooks (1 red notebook, 1 yellow notebook, 1 blue notebook).

Good for homeschooling. My kindergarten loves to draw so these made writing fun for her.

The size of these notebooks are cute. I bought them for my 5 year old son to start journaling in. The paper is quite thin, I think older elementary students can handle the thin paper better than my kindergartener can. Easily ripped when erasing or turning the pages.

I bought these notebooks as summer journals for my three kids. They are great size and will be perfect for toting around as we go on trips this summer the covers are sturdy and have a placed for each child to write their name. Each page has a spot to draw a picture with some lines to describe what they’ve drawn. Three covers with an animal on each. Is the thickness of your notebook paper. Crayons, pencils, colored pencils, and most markers shouldn’t bleed. I’m looking forward to having the kids use these all summer long.

I ordered these for my 1st grader’s daily ELA journal writing and she loves them, but she have to use 2 pages, instead of the 1 used with the standard Primary Composition Journal. There’s enough white space at the top of each page for drawing a picture or scene that’s correlates with the daily writing. But I do love that it’s spiral bound, it lies flat easier without having to bend in place. Overall fun notebook. I recommend.
