Works but the material that holds the latch locked is very thin and can wear. NOT water resistant, you can see right though the latch.

These worked great to replace the old style round locks on my camper. They make the doors feel more secure and hopefully they won’t open up on the road any longer.The template cut out was torn when I got it so made my own with cardboard. Then eyeballed and trimmed as needed. Easy to adjust and hope they stay locked in position. I did have to bend the backing plates since it didn’t really fit with my thicker doors. No biggie and I expected that. Easy to install and good value for the money.

I purchased 8 of these compression latches to secure a 3'-0" x 7'-0" access panel that I built for my home HVAC System. The latches are constructed of good quality material and they work smoothly and latch the access panel weighting approx 55 lbs. securely to the perimeter frame. I am pleased with the operation and ease of installation of these latches and would recommend them to anyone seeking this type of device for their DIY projects.

The set screw cannot be adjusted to work with sheet metal access panel. The screw does not extend far enough to secure the door. There is 1/4" play. I think it is fixable with a trip to the hardware store and getting a longer latch screw. We'll see. I will say the latch is very strong and sturdy feeling.I updated the review from 2 to 4 stars. Although all comments are still accurate I will say that this product shows the dimensions accurately and I did not research this in enough detail to ensure it would work for thin metal panel door latch.
