Excellent product! I use this in a mix for potting up orchids. You will need to rinse it first. It works well in root aeration, and also 'wicking' up moisture in semi-hydroponic growing as well.

I bot these to line the bottom of my flower pots.... they were to small for purpose as the holes in the botom of the pot gave me leakage... these are about the sige of maybe half a grain of rice, or possibly a bit bigger. I was kinda thinking they would be double that side, like size of a pumpkin seed or so, or 2/3 size of a marble.way smaller, but they do absorb water and that is another important use for me

Make sure if your using these in an aquarium you rise thoroughly, I’m talking like 10 minutes of churning and dumping water out of a bucket, there’s a lot of dirt and dust. Other than that they are great besides a fair few rocks being red and not black.

I add lava rocks to all my chunky soil mixes. However I found this product good but pricey for the amount you receive. Does not last very long.

The product is as advertised. I bought this to add to my bonsai mix. Good size particles for bonsai. Product was very dusty and needed to be sifted to remove all the dust. Good product for bonsai, although pricey. $19 for 2 litres or about 1/2 gallon of lava rock.
