I really don’t understand negative reviews. It fits perfectly and mounts fine backwards. I’m using the 24-240 mirrorless lens. Pay triple if you like a little felt inside the hood and canon in the outside

I thought this seemed like a good buy. It looks great, and feels well made, and it mounts fine for shooting. But when reversing the hood for storage on the lens it is way too tight, and the release button which works in the shooting orientation, doesn't work when reversed - wasn't sure I'd get it off my new lens. This was mentioned in at least one other review that I read. Wanted to like this JJC LH-78F lens hood, but I will probably be returning it and buying a Canon OEM version for more money. I just don't want to struggle with it every time I shoot. So disappointing!

Bit tight, but as I don't have an original to compare, it might work exactly the same. Does the job, and a great price compared to the Canon version. Did take ages to arrive from China, and I probably would have picked another store if I had noticed that.

The hood is excellent value for money especially when compared to the ridiculously overpriced genuine item which should obviously be included with the lens like every other brand does.

Frankly, I find it annoying and baffling that Canon doesn’t include lens hoods in its non-L lenses. Imagine if car manufacturers only included sun visors in their top-end models. Crazy. A lens hood is not a luxury. And the price Canon charges for lens hoods as a % of the cost of the lens itself is crazy.So thankfully this 3rd party hood exists. The quality is not the same as Canon, to be expected at this price. It definitely feels like a lower grade plastic.Functionally that has no effect though. The hood mostly does it’s job, it’s only weak spot is slight vignetting at 24mm. That’s easy to correct in post though.The fit is good too and easy to install and remove. If also fits fine reversed on the lens for storage. If I have a gripe, I could do without all the obnoxious branding on the hood.

Great price and fits very well Haven't tried it much yet but the dimensions seem to be ideal for a wide range of angles since I used a 24-240mm.
