About this item

  • Ultrafine Grit - Elevate your sharpening experience with our green honing compound, featuring a micro-fine blend of Aluminum Oxide and Chromium Oxide. With abrasive particles size of 1 to 2 microns, it achieves an edge that rivers 10000 to 14000 grit.
  • Strict Quality Control - This green buffing compound has a smooth surface with almost no pits or bubbles. Its appropriate hardness makes it easier to apply to a leather strop or honing wheel. The thickened packaging ensures that the green wax rouge you receive will not break.
  • Razor Sharp Edge - This stropping compound is essential for the final step of sharpening. It effectively removes excess burrs from the blade edge, resulting in a razor-sharp edge. Your knives or tools will shine as brightly as if they just left the factory.
  • Easy to Use - Simply rub the bar of compound on your strop and evenly apply it to the surface. Once applied, it will polish blade edges more quickly, helping you achieve a mirror-polishing finish.
  • Wide Range of Uses - This green compound is suitable for various metal tools including kitchen knives, pocket knives, machetes, axes, woodworking chisels, and gouges. For most materials including aluminum, stainless steel, common steel, brass, cast iron, copper & much more.

The SHARPAL 209H Green Buffing Compound is ideal for a medium to fine polish. Used in conjunction with a buffing wheel for polishing jobs or leather strop for straight razors, knives and chisels. The compounds will bring out a beautiful mirror finish on most metals. These compounds are best used with soft muslin and spiral sewn buffing wheels. The Green Buffing Compounds are designed for final cut, initial polish and final polish and are used on stainless steel or aluminum for a brilliant finish. The green buffing compound will quickly put a fine polish on the edge of knives and tools. This fine chromium oxide and aluminum oxide abrasive is used when you want a polished, honed edge on your tools, and it can be used on leather, wood, or synthetic strops. The waxy consistency makes it easy to apply the compound. Simply rub the bar of the compound on your leather strop and apply it evenly to the surface. After the compound is applied, the leather strop will polish blade edges more quickly and will help to achieve a mirror polish. Generally, the green buffing compound can be covered the entire surface of the leather strop and a little lighter is better than too much. Meanwhile, the leather strop can be used without any compound, so if a small spot is missed, the leather strop will also be effective equally. Tips: If the compound is too dry to load onto the strop, heat the compound by heat gun or hair dryer. If the leather is too dry or hard, put some mineral oil or honing oil on the strop to soften it.

No concerns with the product. It is a bit softer material so it was easier to apply on the leather strop.

Great strip, angle stone is a great help, good quality. Only had it a few weeks but used a lot already and very pleased with the results.

I use this in pair with a ceramic sharpening rod, it’s a great solid wood with adequate length for even some of my longer knives, the leather is properly adhered on either sides of the wood which was one of my greatest concerns, I feel like it will last me quite a while a while

I don't have much experience with these but I like that it's a decent size, and having the handle is especially helpful, and safe, since you can securely hold the board. A reasonable price and comparable to other similar products I found on Amazon.

Good product at an affordable price. Strip is a bit shorter than others I have used.

I guess at the end of the day a strop is a strop, but this one is well made and I think good value for the money. I loaded up the rough side with compound and left the smooth soft side bare for finishing up. Works great and it’s a big enough size to comfortably work bigger knives like any kitchen knives and the like. Of course works the same for the smallest of your knives as well. I use after my wet stones to de-burr and polish up a nice edge. The included angle finder is actually hand for finding a starting angle for your bevel on the wet stones. Only complaint is the compound is a bit hard for my liking, but not a big deal. They do give you plenty of compound though.
