I like these as they are easier to clean than a steel mesh one. Only issue was the silicone sits a little high so sink didn't always drain completely. Fixed by taking needle nose pliers and putting just a tiny bend up on 4 sides. Works great now.

After having it in my sink for several weeks, I find that the 2 parts don’t stay connected securely. At first I was pleased that it was easier to clean but now it’s becoming annoying because the 2 parts separate quite easily. Even with just running water.

The constant separation of the plastic strainer and ring became somewhat annoying. I purchased replacements at my local dollar store that were more inexpensive and far sturdier than this item and they do not come apart.

This is perfect for your sink and has prevented so many things from clogging my drain. Really easy to clean especially compared to the metal ones

My old strainer was beginning to show some wear, after at least a decade's flawless service, so I mistakenly bought this unreliable, high maintenance, poorly conceived product. My old strainer was a single, bonded unit. A low profile, stainless steel ring, to the underside of which, a flexible silicone strainer cup was permanently affixed. This design allowed debris to easily slide across the steel ring and get caught in the cup. When it needed emptying, a couple of slaps on the interior of the garbage can quickly cleaned it.This one is a two piece affair. A flat stainless steel ring that has the silicone strainer cup fitted into it by means of circular slot in the cup that encompasses the hole in the ring. If you bang it against the inside of the garbage can, the strainer cup easily and immediately dislodges. If you have a dish or pot on the ring while washing dishes, and move it, the strainer cup easily and immediately dislodges, allowing debris to take the path of least resistance and bypass the strainer cup. Finally, because of the raised surface of the silicone strainer cup, that rides atop of the flat stainless steel plate, we have a miniature dam that traps all manner of debris outside the cup, thus requiring paper towels or raking into the cup to completely remove the debris from the sink.It sure looks nice, but functions very poorly. Much more trouble than it's worth.

I had those fancy metal strainer , which they do look good and not something bad , however silicone strainer is the only alternative which is not expensive but not looking cheap at all and way more practical to use , other words when u need a car to go to Walmart ;for this specific need , if u d prefer a Rolls-Royce , than this is not your product but a nice comfortable and not a flashy looking car like a honda , than this is your product ...

This drain strainer is terrible it does not stay on the medal ring. The holes are too big and food scraps still get through. Lots of room for improvement.Had to go and buy new ones from the dollar store since these weren’t doing the job right!!☹️
