The aluminum style neck was bought to replace the metal thermostat neck on a 1999 ford f350 7.3 diesel, during a water pump replacement. It fit perfect using a new motorcraft thermostat. It's machined with an o-ring style gasket which in my opinion make a better fit and seal. The truck is used to haul horses in the mountains of east TN. It is working out great with no issues. For the price and fitment, it is a great piece.

SO my 03 with now some 268K miles had been showing some weeping around the water pump.. it appears to be more around the thermostat cover which are known to get some rust and leak.. I had been putting water in over the past 4 or so months and noticed a wet spot on ground when i fill the degas bottle to proper level so i would let it drop to about a 1 below the min mark and it seem to be less weeping..I had replace the OEM water pump with the IH pump with filter in 2015 soon after getting truck while doing some upgrades to get ready for full time RVing in 2020.. the top hose was replace with the one that goes around the belt unlike the original one. then i was reinstalling the t-stat cover it was check for smooth adn flat which it was and reinstalled with the original spring type hose clamp..I recently had the chance to drain some liquid down to take the upper hose off and noticed the lower spring was broken on one side.. making it hard to remove,, I would up squeezing with pliers and prying with screwdriver on teh bench after removing from WP..I switched clamp as the top one was find.. sure engough noticed the broken clamp on the upper radatrot spout was weeping a bit.. got a screw hose clamp and got in on with the broken one and weeping stopped.morel: if you are having some leaking on the t-stat house check the clamp if the spring type.. now nice tight and looks good for 25 buck off amazon. installed new 205 t-stat with new rubber gasket.
