Japanese Tomoe River paper is a favorite among those who love to write and are particular about quality. It’s renowned for being incredibly thin with a velvety smooth texture. Performs amazingly well with fountain pens and ink pens. Tomoe River FP papers are now produced by SANZEN, a successor to the original Tomoe River FP paper by Tomoegawa, featuring the same great qualities as the original papers produced by Tomoegawa. These “Tomoe River FP” papers are bound together in this classic soft black cover 5mm square grid notebook. Innovative “New Sub-Dot Grid” method, International Design Patented, is used to create these 5 x 5 mm graph grids. A line that is created using this New Sub-Dot Grid method is composed of a collection of invisible sub-dots. By creating these spaces in the line, ink will absorb better with less ink repelling on the paper. Light indigo blue 5mm square grid will help guide you so that your writing will always be straight with equal intervals in thickness. This elegant bullet journal is great for bullet-journaling, daily planning, note taking and more. Sewn binding journal lays flat for easy writing. Black matte finish textured cardstock cover is soft and flexible, yet sturdy and durable enough to protect the pages inside. Superb quality crafted graph ruled notebook contains 160 pages (80 sheets) of fine papers. Securely sewn with thread, pages are bound as thin as ¼ inches. This premium, artist-grade high quality paper used in this journal is manufactured and treated to obtain the perfect surface for fountain pens to glide smoothly, leaving you with exceptionally crisp lines. Silky smooth, fountain-pen-friendly writing paper gives you precise ink strokes and beautiful ink shades. It is super lightweight, at 52 gsm – nearly half the thickness of copy paper. Despite its thinness, Tomoe River square graph paper is resistant to bleeding through and feathering so it can handle a variety of inks and pen nibs. Specially coated on both sides, so ghosting is minimal. Both sides of this thin paper can be used. Silver hot-foil Tomoe River logo is embossed on the cover, the iconic proof of the genuine product manufactured and imported from Japan. White paper in A5 paper size (8.27” x 5.85”). Neutral pH. Made in Japan.

Excellent product. Fantastic with fountain pen ink and well worth the money I paid. Probably the best fountain pen friendly paper I have ever bought but it is expensive.

First time trying Tomoe River Paper & I wish I did sooner. I love it! It shows off the beauty of various inks & the paper is very soft & smooth. It works out to 19cents per sheet which isn’t too bad when you realize that non-TRP notebooks average roughly 16 cents per sheet. I quite think that the difference is worth it for the quality of paper that you get. Will be buying more but I’m not sure what I’ll be using them all for yet 🤣EDIT: after using this notebook for a few weeks, I’m still very satisfied. I like the way inks are shown off on this paper; shading, shimmer & wetness. It’s so satisfying to see.Just beware that the paper is quite thin. Almost like those used in bibles. With that, if you have a heavy hand, you’ll get some writing impressions on the other sheets & ink MIGHT show through depending on the color & type of ink you’re using. None of these things are issues for me. It doesn’t affect legibility or use of the sheets.
