I actually saw something very close to this in a big box store and it was way more expensive. I am glad I waited. Perfect for your purse, or just to have around to jot stuff in. Will be buying more.

I bought this journal after my husband of fifty-seven years—who I met & fell in love with at fifteen—died on home hospice two days after Christmas. Since I’d been told he had 2 or 3 days to a week left, fueled by chocolate-covered espresso beans (also bought here on AMZ), I sat vigil for 6 long days and nights. Although it sounds like something from a novel, I was honestly soothing his feverish forehead with a cool, damp cloth and had just told him that I’d love him forever, when he stopped breathing at 3:04 a.m.. When I found myself talking to him, which even long time widows & widowers have told me they still do after many years, I decided to start writing down what I’d say, or want to say to him. Despite having many failed attempts going back to my Cinderella locking diary I’d begged for at Christmas in the 4th grade, I wanted to try writing down my thoughts again.I’m grateful the lightly lined paper is thick enough that ink doesn’t bleed through, because when I’m angry about how unfair this all is, I press really hard. Other reviewers have pointed out that it’s smaller than listed, but I like that it’s easy to keep handy and not like a big, serious, intimidating journal. Many which are still in my office closet. I got the Aqua blue because it’s my favorite color (rooms in my house are painted in varying shades of beach glass) and the falling leaves from the tree of life brighten it up. I do have greeting cards in the pink, which I bought in the past, and that color is lovely, too.I just ordered two more because it’s only New Years Eve, and I’ve already filled 14 pages. I seem to have a lot to say. Not only is it helping me process my grief while I’m both shattered and numb, later, when my thoughts aren’t so fogged, I’ll be able to look back and see what I’d written (said) in real time. And have a clearer picture of this terrible, horrible, very bad time. But I’ll also be able to remember all the people who are coming forward to help and be so kind and supportive.Also, a shout-out to the many hospice angels. After over a year fighting our broken medical system, I landed in a parallel world when they came into our life and I couldn’t have gotten through this time without them. 💙

I got this notebook as a gift for a friend who keeps a diary. He is very happy with it as the design is eye catching, and the paper quality is lovely and thick. It also fits into a cross-shoulder bag without any issues. Just to note: the notebook is smaller than an A5 size, and the dimension of the notebook was mentioned in the product description on the website (it is a buried amidst all other descriptions). However, I was aware of the dimension of the notebook.In short, this notebook is lovely and I may get one for myself too.

Bought as a gift and it was well received. It's a smaller diary- perfect to fit in a purse. Great colour and quality, I would recommend this little book!
