Tried it right away. Takes some practice to work on the adjusting screw . Nice Stainless steel. Sturdy, serves the purpose. For the price I paid, can't complain. First made in China purchase where I am giving 5. Git some unpleasant experience for products bought from Amazon that were made in china.

This review is for the Tuyotue Stainless Steel Adjustable Whetstone Holder Sink BridgeOverall: 4 StarsThis is a product I never knew I needed. I've got asmall selection of whetstonesthat I used to sharpen knives when I don't want to use my electric sharpener. I'd use them more often - they do provide an even sharper edge - but they require a bit more effort to get set up, and keeping the whetstone in its proper place can be difficult. I've used the rubber mats, the wooden holders, etc., but never really felt all that secure. When I noticed this product available for review, I decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did. The holder is made of sheet metal, parts stamped out and then assembled together. Everything is adjusted and secured with a single thumbscrew. I was able to use it with our large kitchen sink and all of my whetstones. The smaller moveable tab used to keep the whetstone in the holder is easy to set, and the two pieces of the holder slide in and out to fit the sink perfectly. The photos show the top and bottom of the holder, and the holder with a whetstone in place over our farmer's sink. The only thing that could improve the design is to have some rubber tabs on the parts of the holder that touch the sink: the places where the holder sits on the surface and the tabs that interference fit to the sides of the sink. That would prevent any possibility to scratch the surface of your sink or countertop. I will likely add those myself, but it would have been a nice touch for the manufacturer to have designed into their holder.

If you use wet-stones to sharpen the blades in your life, then you know that it can be a messy job. In addition it is essential to have a solid and stable base to hold your stones. This ingenious expandable metal base fits across your sink and keeps you stones firmly in place. It is important to have your stones wet and to keep them wet, so professionals will do this either over an receptable pan or in the sink. Easy to setup and it works like a charm!

This adjustable stainless steel whetstone sink base from Tuyotue arrived in a plain box. It was wrapped in plastic. The purpose of a sink base is to secure a whetstone over a sink so that water can run over it while using a sharpening stone. This base appears to be nicely constructed. It fits fine on the small portion of my sink and I was able to adjust it to fit with no issues. In addition to the ability to adjust the frame for the sink, it can also be adjusted to fit different sized stones. I was able to fit two of my whetstones chosen as random with no issues. All in all, I'm happy with this stone holder. Should my experience with it change in the future, the review will be updated.

This stainless sharpening stone holder is a great idea, and I've wanted some sort of "bridge" to hold my stones over the sink for some time. It does have a few drawbacks though, depending on your sink and your stones.First, the "lips" that secure the stone in place are too tall for Shapton Glass Stones. See the first pic. The rear lip is even taller. I may try to grind these down, or just insert a spacer of some sort under the stone. Shapton stones are a little more than 8" long, and they fit well with this in my 16" sink.A smaller stone (7") cannot be secured while simultaneously grasping the edges of the sink. With a 15" sink, this wouldn't be an issue. Be aware that although the stone holder will adjust down to grabbing small stones, the sink must also be proportionally narrower. To grasp the minimum (3.5") sized stone your sink will have to be 7.375" wide to also be secured against the sides. The "sweet spot" is an 8" stone, which will work in a sink from ~11"-16".There is plenty of rigidity for sharpening. The edges are all bent over for stiffness and the material is reasonably thick. There are a few sharp corners that I'll probably file off. With a little accommodation - some spacers in some circumstances - this will be a handy mess-reducing tool for use with my water stones.
