They seem great - they have their own key. They may fit steel rims but, as you can see from the picture, the shoulder is half the width of the factory lug nuts and barely cover the holes in the aluminum rims. They would fail in short order.

I had these lug nuts installed for only a quarter of a winter before they started to show rust. They looked terrible so I removed them and went back to my original set. The actual seats on the lug nuts are also alarmingly small, relative to stock lug nuts.The lug nuts arrived with a sub par finish and the key had sharp pitting on the inner surface. Definitely not great quality control.

Great product. Great replacement for the original. Fits perfectly and looks like a very durable finish. Dresses up the rims. Pleased with the product.
