I just have to say that I love this product. I had previously read online an opinion that this kind of tool is unnecessary because you could accomplish the same thing with a pair of needle nose pliers. Maybe that's true but only with 100x the effort. These crimpers make the job do easy with quick and uniform crimping that makes the crimped downspout fit effortlessly into the opposite piece.

I had one task that required the crimping of an outer incoming air duct for a vented gas heater. The tool worked fine, was easy to use and offered consistent crimps. They should rename it crimpanzee.

I needed to fix an improperly built dryer vent run in my wall and had an eye watering estimate from a local handyman. Took the plunge with this hand crimper and a few duct connectors and happy to say I sorted everything out in a half hour and for less than 1/10 of the estimate. This crimper seems well made and certainly served its purpose. I was able to crimp and shrink both connectors to fit properly. The lock on the tool is slightly finicky and can pop out easily to open when in your hand but holds well when set down. Crimps well and is very easy to use. I may not need to use this many times more but it has paid for itself on the first job no doubt.

I bought these after buying another more known brand. Those crimpers were terrible. These crimpers work very well. They leave a nice deep dimple aross the 5 blades. The blades crimp to the actual deepth listed on the packaging. The only flaw I can see is the finish of the blades. They are not stainless or chrome finished. There is some movement at the handle pivot points that may get worse over time.
