This is another great IIC/I2C/TWI/SPI Serial Interface.
As the pin resources of Arduino controller is limited, your project may be not able to use normal LCD shield after connected with a certain quantity of sensors or SD card.
However, with this I2C interface module, you will be able to realize data display via only 2 wires.
If you already has I2C devices in your project, this LCD module actually cost no more resources at all. It is fantastic for Arduino based project.

Once I got them configured these worked well. This is sooo much easier than making all of the connections needed for HD44780 LCD. Works for 2 and 4 line, and 16 and 20 column LCDs. A problem was the i2c address was 0x3f, which was mentioned no where. The web site stated 0x20-0x27. The second problem is also with the rest of the industry in the fact that there are numerous chipsets, and addresses, different ways to wire the I/O to the LCD. There are may libraries to choose from, you have to pick the correct one. It would have helped if the boards came with a little note with a link to the library to use. Or a more detailed spec of the connections.

Of the 5 parts in the package, two don't work at all. Running i2c_scanner, I found the first 3 at address 0x3f, butthe last two don't show up at all. The three work great/fine. So, I'm giving it 2 stars because of the 2 defective parts.Update. The vendor promptly send me a full replacement for the parts that were broken, hence the change to 5 stars. Great service!
