I'm a little bit of a Mr Fix-it and one thing in my tools I've been missing is a small sand blaster. It's always nice to get a metal surface sand blasted clean before welding and painting.So out of the box I had a problem. The supplied adapter to connect to the air hose requires you to have a free end air hose and a hose clamp. You're suppose to push on your hose and tighten down the hose clamp (not supplied). I didn't like this setup so I went and removed from my air impact gun the adapter I needed. Found another problem, the threads are different. I cannot screw in the adapter I want to use. Back to using the supplied adapter but now I had to find an air hose I could sacrifice. I was lucky to find one.Ok so I get the air hose attached, adjust the output pressure down to 90 PSI, attach it to my compressor. I can hear a leak inside the gun. It's not a big leak, but I can hear it.The sand hopper, where the sand comes out to flow into the gun, had some manufacturing leftovers. I had to take a sharp knife and trim back the edges. There was even some stringy type plastic within the sand hole. Not a good way to get sand to flow smoothly.The nozzle screws on properly. There is a lever to adjust the sand flow from nothing to full. And surprisingly it works well despite its flaws. I did have a little problem keeping the sand flowing having to give it a shake every now and then.I also had an obstacle to overcome, sanding upside down. I wanted to get rid of the rust on the bottom side of my car before I gave it a paint and undercoating for the winter. I had to find a solution because when you point up, the sand flows away from the sand hole. My solution was to use a rubber fuel line, not too long, only about a foot and a half, and just attached it to the tip the same way I attached the air hose, with a hose clamp. This worked for me. Just pointed the gun down while my other hand pointed the hose up.So yea, this little sand blasting gun needs some refinements, such as adding a standard air hose connector with standard threads, that was annoying. For the most part it gets the job done. I give 4/5 stars.

Took a minute to put together, another minute to attach a quick connect coupler. So long as the sand or soda is fine enough to flow through it, and dry enough, this thing throws a fair good bit of grit doing some realistic sanding.It's a very simple design which just lets your sanding medium fall into the air flow and be thrown at the target. So long as your air pressure is sufficient it works not bad for simple jobs like rust and paint removal.The construction of the tool is sufficient, it's just something to hold onto and trigger the air flow, runs like any other pneumatic gun style tool. It comes with only 1 size quick connector, which didn't match mine, but that's no big deal, i had plenty for my coupler.Maybe a finer tip would improve it and allow it to be more aggressive, but maybe it wouldn't work with the simple principles that this is made with.Overall, I can only say that for the price-point and simplicity/flexibility of this product it is a five star because it serves the chores it can do so much easier (setup, cost and effort) than higher end version that would also work.
