I dont know what thread profile is on the nut, but it was not the same as any air fittings i have . I mounted it on my new gun and was holding my breath the whole time i was tightening it that ii would not break or strip the threads, or something. As it turns out, i was sucessful and there are no air leaks, so as long as the unit actually regulates the pressure properly, it is a permanent fixture on my new gun
