What I liked most about the kit was the rubber like gasket. I feel like it’s far less likely to leak than the original fiber type gasket. I didn’t replace the filter groomer because the one in there was fine. The new filter clicked in with a positive click so I was confident it was seated properly.I also used Permatex Anerobic gasket maker to go along the outside of the ridge, around the pan, to help seal it up tight (as recommended to me by a former GM certified technician).Remember only 11-15 N•M for the 16 bolts around the pan so you don’t crush the gasket.
