The only tool you need to change the thermostat to get past the exhaust exchanger that's in the way. This tool will around that exhaust but be very careful to make sure to keep the socket on that but straight or you will strip it. Also lube the 🔩 before hand. Hold with your finger and slowly turn left. Don't force it. Maybe got right then left. Good luck.

This tool made easy work of a thermostat swap on a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu 3.1 liter engine. The quality of the wrench is good, and it's easy to add a pipe for extra leverage when loosening the lower bolt. Installation was pretty straightforward as well. Vehcor on youtube shows how it is used on a 3.4 l. Grand Am.

To replace the thermostat in a 2000-2005 impala with a 3.4L engine there is one bolt that requires this wrench to remove. This wrench does the job. It still takes a lot of time due the limited turning radius in the tight space, but it makes it possible to remove the bolt.

Worked great! I wouldn't have changed the thermostat without it! Not saying it was wasy (2003 impala 3.4L) I almost took my car to the workshop but this thing allowed me to get it done by myself.

The tool worked well and was a great help in fixing the car. The car I used it on was a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a 3.4L V6. It greatly reduced the amount of time to repair the car. As I'm if looking for something get in that trick spot where the engineer decided to place a common part that needs to be replaced. No need to struggle with getting a regular wrench on the bolts ( 2 bolts upper and lower) next to the exhaust manifold. I have been a mechanic for 13 years and working on cars since I was 17 years old. Your knuckles will be glad you bought this tool.

Got the job done, bit allowed minimum range of motion on my 2000 Malibu. Breaking the bottom bolt loose was a bear due the that and the wrench flexing. You have to apply the torque ad close as possible to the straight with the box end. Which means reaching and push or pull under the exhaust crossover. My hand is pretty black and blue being the handle is so narrow. Despite that, I was thankful to have it. You'd need to be very creative to use a socket. Much better than paying to the labor on such an inexpensive part in my opinion.
