this is too small to be very useful to me. I have a large portable hoop with a glass rim. Because of the glass rim, I always make sure I’ve got it waited down properly. I was hoping this bag would make it look neat and protect the sandbags from the sun. I have about eight sandbags on the hoop base. But I can only fit four in this bag. It’s just too small. If you have a smaller hoop with an acrylic backboard and you don’t need that much weight on the back and this could be a very good product. Good luck.

This arrived in a clear plastic bag on my porch and once opened it revealed itself. It is a very thick sandbag (for lack of better words). I have had a number of basketball hoops in my life and with that said… many ”sandbags” to weigh them down. And each and every time the sandbags always seen to fall victim to the weather. Mainly the sun.However, the material on this feels much thicker than expected. Just by touching the bag I can tell this is durable. The about this item says, “Basketball Stand Anchor Made of heavy-duty 600D waterproof Oxford cloth…”. I am a mechanical engineer and I know that Oxford cloth is a material used for many outdoor applications. I have a cover for my RV that is 600D Oxford cloth and it has withstood upper northeast New England weather for 4 years with no rips or tears.I currently have a standard size basketball hoop. And the base is 42” x 27” with a recessed area of 28” x 19” by 2 1/2” deep (I think is the standard size base). This cover almost completely covers my entire base, which is a good thing. I absolutely love that the top is zippered, and I can place in as many bags as it will hold. I currently I have 5-40lb bags of play sand in mine and that is more than enough to hold my basketball goal in place. There is room for at least two more bags of sand.The zipper and the d-rings are attaches with good quality stitching. I guess some might think this is odd, but I tend to look at the stitching on products. To me it tells me a lot about the quality of the product.And this sandbag is no exception. I have looked at all of the stitching around the zipper and the d-rings and (I can only speak for the bag I received) but I have not seen any missed stitch, skipped stitch, or any runoff stitching. and the zipper itself is a solid sipper. The supplied webbing straps also have a very durable feel to them.The reason for my four-star review is simply based on the longevity of this product. I have only had this on my hoop base for a couple of months, and that is not enough time to tell. I will update this post in one year.

I got this bag so that I wouldn't have to rely on filling my basketball hoop with water as a counter weight. Water is great if you don't live in an area that freezes. This was an easy system to use. I was able to pick up two bags of play sand from a local home improvement store and just place them inside the bag. This has worked great and made moving the basketball hoop so much easier.
