I was intrigued by the idea of a quick mute and unmute option on my bass, but I found this device to be inconsistent. I can't get it to easily replicate a traditional foam mute sound, and instead, the notes are often dead immediately upon playing them, and all that comes through is a faint pluck without any clear note.

This feels sturdy and sounds good.If you’re looking for that muted bass sound this will do the trick!It was easy to install without damaging anything on the bass.The early versions of many bass guitars had muting systems built in and a lot of earlier recordings feature a muted bass sound.The advantage of this design versus those older style mutes is it can easily be installed and removed - even between songs in a live performance.

I have a Squire Jaquar Bass. I was hopeful this would be the solution for limiting open string harmonics. It did the job for two strings, but not the D or G strings. The G strings in particular lost all sustain and left the tone dull.
