Some antenna cables use F type connectors, but most modern RF devices use SMA (or RP-SMA) antenna connections. This adapter lets you use older-style cabling and antennas with newer equipment. If you happen to have an antenna and cable setup with the right frequency but with older type F connectors, no point in replacing the antenna and cables, just use an adapter to convert and you are in business.I am using this with a Helium miner antenna. I am getting a significant difference between the specified antenna gain and the actual reported gain, but I am thinking this may be due to my antenna not being properly mounted yet. As such, I can't reliably estimate the signal loss due to this adapter. Every adapter will have some loss, its just a question of how much. For now I am assuming the loss due to the adapter is on par with most other adapters.Fit is good on both the SMA and the F connection, no issues there. Manufacturing quality seems good.

These ate female to female. Will not work where you need female to male. Now I have to return to place 20 miles away- they say it's free. What about my gas and the?
