We live in the desert where grass is minimal. What we do have is lots of cactus. This tool allows me to trim agave leaves and other stab potential plants...all while keeping my arms away from needles. The shears are very sharp and easy to handle on grass and diving into narrow armed cactus (also hand-free in case a snake may be in there). Love this tool!

We are drawn to quality tools manufactured in Europe and Spear and Jackson W215 Razorsharp Edging Shears joins that lineage of exceptional well built tools. It lives up to it's name - Razorsharp - and it is excellent for doing trimming around the garden and flower beds.I have long lost interest in the garbage Canadians have to buy in tools at the likes of Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware Lowe's that are all manufactured in China. They are for the most part junk. If you want quality, search out Amazon or Lee Valley Tools for the right tools that will last for years - but make sure they are manufactured in Europe or the United States.We will more than likely add a Bahco Lawn Shears with horizontal blades or an A B Tools brand that are manufactured in the US. Both tools, edging and horizontal serve different needs.This W215 is a pleasure to use and my wife would rather I use this than fire up the Stihl trimmer.

We have been looking for these for a long time. Easy to get in the UK but not in Canada. They are popular with British gardeners but not it seems in North America. My husband likes nice clean edges to his lawn and this those the job well.

Does the job well, old English style square edge,clean even cuts. An enjoyable tool that is quiet and precise and take a little time to master well. I have been using these style edgers for 60 years. Will give it a 5 when I get 10 years use out of it. How will it keeps an edge and how much it requires sharpening time will tell. Stored dry and oiled. Not usually handled by hardware store.

It was as advertised: light and sharp. I use a reel mower and did not want to use a weed wacker for the edge. This allows for cutting the edge of the grass while standing. It makes the grass look amazing.
