I've got to admit that I was floored with the quality of these rod holders! They are exceptional and obviously made for ocean fishing tackle, although I took full advantage of them on my rented pontoon boat, fishing a freshwater lake in Northern Ontario for a week. They particularly came in handy, allowing me to have a line in the water as I drove the boat and the same with my daughter as she hooked worms, safely released fish caught or worked to undo snags for my 3 grandkids.

Better than what came with my boat. Nice hard thick plastic and aluminum base.It mounts two ways, the threaded clamp in from the bottom for mounting to something horizontal, or from the side to mount to the side of your boat. So fairly versatile. Gonna use them to supplement the two that came with my boat.Suggestion, dry fit them on land first. It took me a bit of figuring to know where they fit well on the boat, get them the right way around and so on. Figure out the little details before your on the water.
