I mount this rod holder on the back of an inflatable boat. It holds in place day after day doesn't come loose and the holder holds the rod well. I am glad I went with this one over a the cheaper ones out there. Worth every penny.

I purchased one of these to use pier fishing for snook. It is made using quality aluminum rather than pot metal. Since i use 2 or 3 rods in the water at the same time this holder has saved me from losing a rod already when i had a double hookup. I ordered another brand that was cheaper for 2 holders. They have pot metal frames with lightening grooves which I sure wouldn't trust for any fish larger than average size catfish or bream, etc. I gave them away to a friend that fresh water fishes. These cost more than all these deals for 2 or more but are well worth it. Do not buy the "deals" if you value your favorite expensive rigs.

Very sturdy fit, when pressure applied moves very little, if at all. I use heavy retrievable weights, (not a downrigger) and these work much better than the metal bearing clamp on. Plus they lock properly. Having said that, I still use a safety line on my rods!

Very well made, I wish the U would have been longer where the rubber is. I had to put it with the screw from the outside pic 1 instead of inside because it would not be well adjusted pic 2

I needed a removable rod holder for my inflatable boat. I chose this brand because of the build quality, and clamped it to the aluminum bench seat. I was tempted by others that are cheaper and the fact that I could get 2 holders for the price but quality won over quantity.I focused on the clamps. Most look thin and flimsy, this one is thick and strong. The knobs to tighten are meaty making them easy and comfortable when making adjustments. If this clamp breaks, you abused it. The round plastic seat at the pivot point where the holder sits has deep teeth to hold the holder in place after adjustments. In my opinion this is where you need to be careful. Loosen the adjustment screws enough so you can have enough clearance to avoid rubbing these teeth together and wearing them down. Once set snug, this never moved even with fish on.The holder itself is made of thick black strong plastic with a sliding ring at the end to secure your rod.The rod holder was exactly as I expected it to be, and held up for a week of fishing without ever loosening. It was snug and not over tightened. All my rods fit, from fly to trolling.I would definitely reccomend this rod holder over any on Amazon. I plan to get a second in the future.

Bought this to use with my downrigger on the tin boat was affraid at first about it not being sturdy enough to take the drag from the rigging weight but it worked great didn’t budge a bit at least being setup in the corner like that definitely would recommend if you don’t want to drill in for regular rod holders

Between the durable plastic, beefy hardware and 1/2” machined aluminum base, this thing is the best value I’ve come across. This is the most STOUT rod holder I’ve come across so far, and at $30 this thing is better made than most $80 -$120 clamping rod holder setups at your local boat dealer or marine store.

We mount this on the back/side of the drift boat while trolling. Can get a tight/secure mount. Easy to move if we have an extra person in the boat and want to change where it is mounted.

First impressions: I haven't had a chance to try this rod holder on my boat yet, but out of the box it appears to be plenty strong with solid connection points at every locking swivel joint. The rotating locking ring looks like it has been redesigned and is securely nested on the holder making it impossible to come off and fall in the water which some previous reviews had experienced.I put foam weatherstrip tape inside the holder at the top and bottom ends to get a more snug and secure fit for the rod and may glue a thin rubber layer on the plastic clamp pads later to maximize the grip. For the price, I would have liked to see these two features included in the design. I will provide an update after further testing.

We rented a fishing boat over the weekend and purchased these for ourselves. VERY sturdily built and they worked awesome! You can adjust these to fit just about any need while fishing. Great purchase IMO.

Everything about these holders is heavy duty. The plastic rod holder is made out of very tough and solid plastic and the ring locks very securely.The large knobs are easy to adjust and tighten.This holder clamps onto my canoe very securely because of the large gripping surface of the clamping screw head.
