This type of tool is necessary to install the boot clamps (purchased as a kit).

It does not work on audi cv boot axle clamps. Way too small and even if it was big enough, wouldn't be strong enough for the task or would bend/break.

Terrible Terrible Terrible, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is one of the worst tools I have ever used, it only grips the clip on one side. What is the point? If you can’t grip both ends. I’m definitely sending this tool back. Save your money and don’t waste your time.
