  • HEAVY DUTY: Tough pebble-embossed, UV-resistant rubber prevents spiked shoes from slipping or puncturing the surface. Will last multiple seasons and helps protect the safety of the runners.
  • REINFORCED SIDEWALLS: Sidewalls reinforced with extra rubber maintain the base’s shape as players slide to safety and won’t collapse under impact, even with extreme use.
  • DURABLE CENTER: Inside the rubber shell, a heavy-duty polyurethane-covered foam pad holds up under traffic and makes for less impact when running on the base.
  • RUST RESISTANT: The nickel-plated stanchion pad and triple-reinforced screw-in steel anchor system resist rusting, allowing this base set to endure all weather conditions.
  • INCLUDES: 3 Molded Pro-Style Bases, 3 ground anchors to keep the bases from moving during play, and 3 base plugs.

The Champro Pro-Style Base Set is recognized by many top baseball and softball officials as having the best in-ground bases. Designed to be the most safe and durable bases on the market. These bases are great for long term durability and the pipes are deep enough to hold them in place with any slide. Just position them properly, sink the pipes, place the base, good to go for quite awhile.

Once my players were old enough to wear metal cleats the old throw down bases looked like Swiss cheese after a single practice. I got these as a replacement and took the posts off so that I could throw them down on the dirt or grass where we were practicing. After three seasons of baseball they would still look brand new if I cleaned the grass stains off the top with some wet wipes. Absolutely no holes, tears, or other visible signs of damage despite being stepped on with metal cleats by +200lb men and being thrown around the field. These are bulky and heavy if you plan on transporting them to practices. A nice set of 1/2" thick throw downs is smaller in volume than 1 base and about the same weight. You will want to park close to the field or get a wagon to haul them around.Pros:-Real bases that look and behave like the ones on game day.-Tall enough to be seen on grass even if it hasn't been mowed in weeks.-Heavy enough that they don't slide around on grass or dirt when fielding or base running (except in rare cases where you'll be glad they did move because of a late slide).-Durable, Durable, Durable. No holes from metal spikes, No tears or bends from being thrown 20-30ft.Cons:-Bulky, they take up a lot more room than a good set of 1/2" thick throw downs.-Heavy, Adults can carry all three at the same time without too much trouble. Preteens can usually carry 1 with a batpack, and early teens can carry 1-2 and their batpack. Regardless, if you have to carry them more than a few hundred feet you'll wish you had a wagon sooner than later. Conclusion, I got these when they were $150 and hoped for the best. Knowing what I know now I would by them for around $200 in a split second. I know that's a lot of money for practice bases but the benefits for my team have been amazing. There are some cheaper alternatives that are designed as throw down bases instead of real bases like these. I have no experience with those, the reason I went with these is because of the metal cleats my players wear. At the time I knew the bases at the game field never got holes in them so real bases made sense. I'm glad I made that decision. The only draw back is the weight but it's practice so a little bit of weight lifting is probably a good thing.

These are really nice bases, almost pro level. The picture is misleading - the pegs are not welded on, but bolted on. This makes them removable though and usable either with the ground pegs or without. If without, the bases are heavy enough that they will not move easily. Also, an orange rubber cap is included to protect the opening at the bottom. If you are looking for the ideal base for a pick-up league, kickball, or similar, you can't go wrong with these. We have been playing for multiple years but just got these this season, and they are a big hit. Everyone commented on how much better the game played, how nice the bases were, etc. I researched bases forever and these seem like the best value per dollar. They are heavy - you may want to consider a tote or very large well made equipment bag with them.
