Came into a large spool of white CAT6 cable, and wanted to replace some exposed blue cables with white because they'll blend in better with our walls and decor.These white cable ends were instrumental in the plan.Borrowed tools from a neighbor, watched some videos, and made my very first network cable. The boots were great for making our patch cables look more polished, but a 2nd bag of 50 ordered a few weeks after the first resulted in a 2nd batch of boots with a slightly different hue. (see pic)

It is a boot.It relieves cable strain.It does it.Relatively stiff material, fits over my cat 6cable &connectors just fine.I paid for this, so I am not giving a compensated review, my own unbiased opinion here :-)
