We are going to be selling our house soon, and are finding that as we renovate and repair, the regular metal tape measures are just not cutting it.This is an industrial tape measure. It measures up to 100’, which means we can do measurements outside as well as in. The tape is made of a flexible fabric that is durable and stain/dirt resistant. The tape has a metal loop on the end of it, so it can be attached a nail or screw for one-handed operation. The measurements don’t start immediately though, so you will have to do a little bit of math to get the exact measurements this way.The numerals are large and easy to read. The tape rolls back by way of a winding handle. It retracts very smoothly and easily.

Comparable to other Lufkin products I have owned. Robust handle/winder, strong end with ring and somewhat small ground tab. There are some wrinkles in the metric lamination on the back which makes me question the longevity, but that remains to be seen. Three of the toughest zip ties I have ever seen to hold on the label/card, requiring my largest diagonal cutter to get them off. No instructions, but why would you need any?Priced commensurate (or better) given the quality. Honest 4 stars (due to the wrinkling), but the one star without a written review is clearly a fake by a competitor.

First thing to realize is that this tape spool is as big as a large serving platter. Not something that will fit in the average toolbox. But that’s actually an advantage, I can’t even say how many measuring tapes I have lost on job sites. This one you will NOT lose, it’s big enough to follow you around by itself. The way the handles and crank are set up, it’s ergonomic and easy to use, and because the tape isn’t inside a housing with a spring you don’t have to worry so much about dirt and crud getting inside and jamming everything up. Feels like this should last a long time and stand up to a good bit of abuse.
