The old tow bar was level with the tow frame on a lifted Hilux. This resulted that a trailer was always low on the rear. Being able to adjust the tow ball down means that the trailer is now level taking the pressure off the rear tyres. The other advantage is that it has 2 holes for connecting to the tow bar frame giving more adjustment. The build quality is excellent.

I like the adjustability of it I don’t like the rattling and the way it fits together looks like the side plates are not square a little bowed causing a too big of gap between the tounge Also the description shows a anti rattle bolt so falsely advertised should have purchased a Hayman Reece

I bought this for an enclosed trailer for our boy scout troop. They have a 16 ft enclosed trailer that is pulled by several different trucks. The curt hitch seems to be very sturdy and is very easy to adjust the height of the ball to the correct height for various trucks. I am pleased with the hitch and would buy it again.

J’ai deux remorques dont les timons sont à des hauteurs différentes. Je peux faire les ajustements requis pour accommoder les deux.J’ai remplacé les tiges avec goupilles par des boulons avec écrous 15/16 pour que ce soit moins tentant pour les voleurs. De plus cela a éliminé toute vibration.

Of course it rattles and makes noise out of the box, it is an adjustable hitch. There is no anti-rattle set screw (likely due to the complaints about stripping), but there is a rubber bumper to help.I personally removed the push in bumper and screwed two round rubber "feet pad" things on the back of the ball mount section which pads against the hitch channel. I also put a slim rubber pad on each side of the ball mount as well to prevent side to side rattle in the channel. For the pins I added a layer of 3M clear bra I had to them to take up the slack in the pin holes. Lastly, I had some 3M deadening foil tape laying around so I wrapped the stinger to prevent slop in the truck. Solid now - no clanking and works perfect with the RockerBall on it!Long winded, but worth it.

I put this hitch on the back of a 2019 Ram 2500 which is a taller pickup. It gives me the drop I need to tow different trailers. I rent a Car Carrier or an 8 x 14 Enclosed trailer from time to time and this lets me hook up and go with everything level. This is especially true if I set the truck itself to Alternate Trailer Height. (A suspension setting on the Ram 2500)

The adjustability of this hitch is great for cargo trailers, especially if you have a higher truck receiver and lower trailer tongue. The height adjustability provides lots of flexibility to level the trailer from empty to fully loaded. Inverting the shank would even provide greater range of height, however I haven't had to do that yet. For a cargo trailer this was a lower cost and simpler option than a weight distribution hitch to level the trailer under various loading and cargo distribution scenarios.

This was a little on the pricey side compared to a straight drop type, but I am finding it well worth the money. I tow a 17 foot aluminum boat with 115 merc on the back and this tongue is great for towing at the perfect height. I was looking for something that I could adjust as I didn't want to have a single use tongue, or if I changed tire size, would force me to buy a new tongue with a different drop. This is a sturdy well built tongue that I look forward to servicing me in the next several years. I often find myself towing, or being asked to tow, a friends trailer across town or to a location (curse of owning a truck). This hitch has been great, as I can adjust the height easily with one wrench (an adjustable that I keep in the truck) to loosen the lock bolt in the back, pull the pins and adjust the height. If you do not use the lock bolt there is slop in the pins and holes that causes "clunking noises" (found that out the hard way). As an engineer, I would recommend using the lock bolt as described (I just forgot to tighten it once). This tongue also protrudes a few inches more than my previous tongue so I had to make sure the trailer wiring had enough slack prior to taking off down the road.
