This is only the remote shell. You will need to use the original computer chip part under the buttons. Fits good and has been working well for over a year. There's a small crack in the case but it's holding together. Not sure how the crack came, could have been from throwing keys on stone counter.

My old key remote fits perfectly in this new case. But its made of really cheap plastic. Broke within a couple of months. I had to glue it as not gonna buy a new one.

Seems like the right idea. The key blade fits into the holder, a small screw tightens it into one side of the case. You use the new buttons, rubber pad, and your circuit board. It all fits together nicely, and you snap on the back of the case. The problem is, when you twist the key in the ignition, the case comes apart. Even with the key blade screwed in tight, you can move the blade up and down, which snaps the case open, and the thing falls apart. I will return this product, and go with the complete uncut new key.

Really not worth the cost or time you'd have taking out the old transponder chip, moving over you old key and remote internals. This case literally shattered in my hand after about a dozen uses to start the car.Like some of the photos here, there was no extra force other then turning the key for the car, i bought another case thst had a metal bracket inside, its tougher and held on longer than this piece of junk.Just don't waste your money.

The product is not strong enough to replace the key and hold the key.

Overall, this is a decent product to change the broken shell of your Toyota key at a very low price, but you must not forget to transfer the chip or the vehicle won't start. There are several tutorials on Youtube. But beware, transferring the chip is a rather difficult task that requires a lot of patience, meticulousness and caution. The chip is very fragile and it is glued to its slot.

Works great so far but car wouldn't start, so found out I had to remove the small transponder chip out of the old case into the slot provided in the new key case. I had to use pliers to remove the cut key out of my old fob also, which ruined the old one, but I wasn't going to use it anyway. Watch youtube videos on how to remove transponder. As far as case coming apart I snapped it together and then squeezed it together near the metal key (with pliers) as this is where it wouldn't quite snap together. Cover fob with a cloth and don't over squeeze as to not scratch the fob. I am happy with it so farUPDATE: Keeps coming apart, I'm going to put a new battery in it and super glue it

The case is good to transfer your existing remote control and key blade but it doesn't have a programmable chip and would not start your car. It does have a slot for a chip if you can dig it out of your old car key. The supplier show have made this clear on their site. I bought a programable key separately and use this case for the remote control

It is a cost effective way to replace a key with a broken housing. No instructions but fairly straight forward. I did fine that by using the small screw to hold the key in place the housing twisted and would pop the back off. I followed Toyota's lead and glued the plastic key holder to the front cover with quality adhesive. That solved the twisting issue. and works good now. After using for 2 month or so the casing that holds the key failed so now it is going in the trash and will replace with a fob with built in chip. Not worth the money if it fails after a short period. Do not buy.
