Works well, feels good, very well made. All the notches are precisely where they should be and measure correctly. I use it all the time when doing a little bit of bi-annual maintenance on my guitar. Does the job well, highly recommend.

It boggles my mind how some companies try to charge for these simple devices and how fanatic some users can be over guitar tools! The D'Addario seemed to me to the be the best price performance product for sale here. The markings are etched into the metal and painted black against the silvery metal so it is easy to read. This should last me a life time.

The D'Addario action ruler works and has well marked measurements. I am impressed with how solid it feels. This is definitely the one to get if you're on a budget and are wary of the Baroque or other overseas rules. That being said I have a funny feeling that those cheap rules are more similar to this than I originally thought.The metal is solid and not very sharp which is nice. I may still go over the edges with some fine grit paper but overall I am happy. The biggest problem is the metal is a bit dark and its hard to see the markings. This is made way worse by the fact that the metal is unpolished. That is then made even more worse by the fact that the unpolished metal looks like they had begun to polish but never made it past 220 grit. So there are sandpaper streaks going all the way across which makes it even harder to read. I would polish it further without complaining but I fear I will lose the markings therefore I am complaining.Overall I would still recommend as I dont think you can get these tools in the condition and quality we expect without paying 25 bucks or more from a hobby retailer. That being said I dont think these are much different than the overseas knock off cheapos and I would argue they are the same but with a more trusted brand name printed on it. That makes this worse because D'Addario is a name I trust more than the other action rule brands and yet I got a product that probably came from the same place.
