Doing the job intended..... but a bit brittle.... I'm using water for filling my axe didn't work a lot on it and the stone 2 sides are dropping drastically.

I bought this based on other reviews. I wanted a good quality stone to sharpen some tools and an axe. It's so easy to use, the tools and axe are now a lot sharper. It comes with a nice leather belt pouch to keep the stone in which looks great too. The stone is comfortable in the hand, the size of the stone fits well into my hand which makes using it easy. Very versatile and the performance is great. Great value for money.

This leather carry case works great for my Lansky puck sharpener. This product came with a complimentary sharpening stone as well, but that's best used as a paperweight. After sharpening a single tool the 180 grit side had started flaking off the entire surface leaving it INCREDIBLY rough. I didn't want to damage the tool so I started on the 320 side which thankfully stayed smooth, though it did erode at an alarming rate. By time it was done the stone was deeply grooved, and after each pass of the blade I had to wipe off a thick later of sharpening grit. I've used my lansky puck sharpener many times and it works just like new to this day. For any of your sharpening needs the lansky puck is worth the money 100%. If you need a leather case for that stone this is a suitable product, otherwise take your money elsewhere.

I used it at first only rinsing it under water. It didn’t get wet enough. I found out you need to soak it in water for 5 minutes before using it. The stone grit has two sides a rough grit and a smoother grit along with a bevel on the side to help you hold your knife edge up against it. It works as you make circular patterns one way and then the other way. It is a nice sharpener and is easy to use. I like it has a case to keep it good condition. I would recommend this to keep your knives and wood chisels sharp!

I bought a brand-new Fiskars x7 hatchet.Used this stone to sharpen it. I had never sharpened a hatchet/axe before. I watched a YT video, used some WD-40, and gave it a try, slowly and carefully.After only a few minutes the hatchet was wicked-sharp. Used the course and fine grain side of the stone.The included leather pouch is a nice addition.Recommended.

try it on a old axe .was impress that it did the job .sharp but could have a 600 grit to be better the case is a nice touch. after 2 axes worn down the 180
