We use pennants at the feral cat colony where I volunteer because they somehow seem to dissuade coyotes from entering the area. I know, sounds crazy, but I actually watched a coyote walk up to a string of them on one of our game cameras, then walk away three different times.Anyway, we have a sizeable area to "block off" and decided to try these to see if they work as well as the ones we already have in place. At first glance, these are high quality. The pennant material is thick and tough, and the stitching attaching them to the nylon cord is well done. I can't verify the 500lb breaking point since we aren't hanging anything from it, but the nylon rope the pennants are attached to seems to be sturdy.Overall, I would recommend this item.

I got these because we have tons of coyotes in our area, and I am paranoid about my dogs getting taken. There is a technique called “Fladry” that farmers use to ward off coyotes and wolves. It involves hanging red flags along the perimeter, and it is supposed to deter predators. These flags work perfectly for that! They are pretty heavy duty, and they don’t look as tacky as I expected.
