This MAX7219 Dot LED Matrix module is a great way to add a classic 4x8x8 LED display to your Arduino or Raspberry Pi projects. It's bright, easy to control, and the included 5-pin line makes wiring simple. I was able to get it up and running quickly with my Arduino, and there are plenty of libraries and examples available online to help you create all sorts of cool scrolling text and animations.
