About this item

  • This LoRa board comes unassembled, soldering is required, not equipped with lithium battery.
  • When you use lora esp32 915MHz, you need to use 2pcs together, one receiving and another sending.
  • You will receive, 1pcs 915MHz esp32 lora V3, 1pcs 915mhz lora antenna,and 1pcs 2pin 1.25mm connector.
  • LoRa V3 board are an improvement over the V2 version, but they are not a replacement.
  • LoRa 32 V2 use ESP32-D0WDQ6 MCU, but the V3 is ESP32-S3FN8, so pinout is different. The APIs used with the libraries are different, so programs written for V2 do not compile V3.

Product Description

esp32 lora

LoRa 32 is a classic ESP32 development board loved by developers and manufacturers. It is a good option for smart cities, farms, homes, industrial control, home security, wireless meter reading, and IoT developers.

The V3 version, launched in November 2022, has the same pin sequence as the V2 version and retains W-F, BLE, LoRa, OLED display, and other features.

Works well. Uses more current than others and the battery charge circuit is very slow- but overall it is a great way to get into lora

As described. Tested the included antenna on a nanoVNA, it's not well turned for 915Mhz. But they never are?

So it's now power consumption or range optimized, but it has the new TX chip and are cheap easy and compact. I'm getting beacon signals 40km away but transmits of messages on my own stuff about 1km but can probably do better with placement tweaking or tbeam as base

Decided on this because of the fast ship time even though it didn’t have a project box and I was glad. Most other LoRa radios have an antenna that isn’t tuned for 915 MHz (the frequency used in the USA) but I tested this antenna and it was 1.8 SWR (below 2 is acceptable). I decided to get a little creative and used the plastic box it came in as the project box and I’m pretty pleased with myself. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit (by hand) to make the antenna port in the box and a 7/64 inch drill bit (again by hand and a pocket knife and patience) to make the USB C port in the box. All in all took about a half hour and works great. Even has room for a battery if I want to add one.

I measured 1.45 SWR for the stock antenna. Surprisingly adequate for 915 mhz LoRa use.

Works great, runs the latest firmware. Note that the include antenna works as expected, but don't expect to communicate long distances without upgrading.

These were so easy to program with Meshtastic.org flasher. They worked immediately, and the tutorials are amazing. I was sending messages between archaic android phones that i thought were garbage, now i have a way too text my kids at school and know they have no internet access but a life line to me... awesome hardware product.

Ping tests have worked almost a km apart. At higher TX powers it gets a bit warm but not hot.One of them (used to RX) hangs and must be reset repeatedly. I've used multiple arduino codes online with no further success. I'm not sure if it is the code(s) or somethings wrong with the hardware. The RX sensitivity (as per the factory code) only goes down to -120Dbm before it loses signal. Thats with SP12 and max TX power. Other modules go much lower. I'm not sure if the factory code is accurate in its RX sensitivity number calculation though.

As usual with these manufacturers they include the wrong frequency antenna. The antenna included is tuned for 2.4Ghz and not 915Mhz.
