The scissors work best on thin or fine fur, not the best for heavy or thick fur. Good for a quick trim around paws, eyes, ears. The comb works well to separate tangles in longer fur. I haven't tried these on human hair, but they would probably work! I give this 4/5.

I bought this set because my new puppy has very long, scraggly hair and he looked like a total scruff. I had never clipped a dog in my life, but one you figure out what length you want the hair, it's fairly straightforward.

I’m really impressed with this dog grooming scissors set! The scissors are sharp, easy to handle, and make trimming my dog’s fur so much easier. These scissors make a nice clean cut without bending the hair, though it feels like they are working a bit harder when they're cutting thicker hair. They cut fine hair effortlessly, and incidentally, work well on human hair as well.I like the rounded tips, which prevent you from accidentally stabbing a squirmy animal (or human).I haven't yet had the need to separate the scissors for sharpening, but I love that this is an option.The rubbery grips on the inside of the handle make them really comfortable to use and will prevent your fingers from getting sore if you're cutting for a long time. The curved finger rest also adds to comfort and, I think, gives you more control.When the blades rub together they make a bit of noise -- about what an average pair of scissors does -- so if you have a sensitive animal, it might be bothersome for them.The comb is so solid that I think it could become an heirloom.Overall, a great option for an affordable grooming set.
