I have bought a few different “like” dremmel ones nothing came close to the real one. I went middle of the road in price. Not the most expensive and not the cheapest, and it makes my work so much easier.

this is a super handy tool for many jobs. I've used to countless number of times. It's well built and motor is enough powerful for most things you throw at it. also cord is of good length but I will get a cordless version next time. I wish consumables were little cheaper and lasted little longer. it does come with lot of accessories which is nice. overall great value at this price, and it's also a great gift.

Not much to say as it is the perfect tool for my needs. I never worked with other brands so I cannot compare. Sturdy and versatile for hobbyists like myself. I tried it for cleaning, polishing, grinding and cutting on different mediums like glass, metals (soft and hard), wood and plastic. So far not disappointed by the versatility of this tool. Cons: manoeuvrability when working on tiny details can discourage its use. So not recommended if you only need a rotary tool for very precise details. Not sure about the case it comes with: cheap plastic and useless accessories space. Makes the case unusable in my point of view. I would have thought that Dremel, since a leading brand in that type of tools would know more about their customers’ needs and would have offered a versatile casing to go with. The accessories’ box is a fair starting point for beginners and offers enough tools to start a first project.

First off, this Dremel is truly amazing. It can do almost anything you can think off with ease. I have cut through 1/8th inch hardened steel sheet no problem, and it will take off bolts just as easily. I primarily use this to cut metal, but it can also cut thick plastic, you just have to watch to make sure it doesn't melt too much of the plastic and clog the cutting wheel or chuck. If you plan on using this to cut bolts or metal often, you will need to buy more cutting wheels as they wear down pretty quickly, and the reinforced cutting wheels like the 2 that come included seem to work the best for me. As far as the other attachments go, I have used almost all them and I love the cut-off wheels and the sanding drums. The grinding wheel also works great but the aluminum oxide stones definitely fell short of my expectations, they wear down super quickly and don't even remove as much material as the sanding drums, but the cone shaped one is very useful for cleaning up welds. The felt polishing wheels will work great for getting a nice mirror finish on metal, but they also wear down pretty quickly when used with a compound. I really don't find the wire wheels that useful because they are just too small to be practical, and the larger ones that go on a drill or grinder are much more effective. People say in the reviews that the attachments don't fit in the included chuck, but they are just clueless and don't know what they are doing, or haven't read the manual that clearly states how to use every attachment. I would recommend getting the keyless chuck, it is great for quickly swapping between different attachments but be careful to get the real one from dremel not a cheap knockoff as they wont work as well and will break easily. The Dremel 3000 works even better than 30+ year old sears rotary tool that I used to use, and I would recommend this to anyone that does any kind of hobby/ craft work, or works on cars and engines where bolts might need to be cut.

A capable little tool with lots of accessories. So far I've only had the opportunity to use it for two projects:1) Cutting staples out of wooden boxes. The staples were stuck, so I was cutting off the exposed ends of them. It wasn't as fast as an angle grinder, but got the job done quickly and with no hassle.2) Routing a 1/4" groove in some sort of soft-ish wood. I had to buy a separate bit for this, but did NOT buy an actual router guide - I just used the freehand tool that came in the package. It was easy to control but difficult to cut in a straight line, especially around knots. It was also less powerful than I would have liked, but that's sort of what you get with a high-speed / low-torque tool like this. Conclusion: it did two jobs that would have typically required two different tools whose prices would have added up to or surpassed the cost of this one. The Dremel 3000 may not be the most powerful tool out there, but it more than makes up for it in versatility and price.
