After using my snowblower for three years, the scraper bar was worn down, so I replaced it with this item, and it was easy to do, and worked great. Then, three years later, it was worn again, so I got this same item again. (And got two so I'll be prepared for when 2028 rolls around!) But this time the replacement was very difficult, because the screws were impossible to unscrew. Unlike the original bolts from the factory, these new bolts had no way to hold the head; they have a squared-off shank like a carriage bolt, and fit in a square hole in the plastic scraper, but that wasn't enough to keep the bolts from turning when I tried to unscrew the rusted nuts. I ended up having to saw off the old bolts. I'd recommend using better hardware, if I knew exactly what to get. Or you could try to keep your nuts and bolts from rusting, or you could just resign yourself that a few years from now you might have to hacksaw off the bolts.

This is the second replacement bar that we have gotten and they do exactly as they should. This one however arrived with the packaging completely ripped open, and the small pieces (nuts, bolts, washers) loose in the box. Which being a box has gaps at the end, one washer was missing and we were shocked that it was only one missing. The small pieces are usually in a little ziploc bag. We know this because we ordered a new one while installing the previous one to ensure we always have one on hand and it’s not like they will expire. This was clearly purchased and returned and no one bothered to count pieces and tape the packaging shut so pieces wouldn’t be lost. The washer should be easy enough to replace, it’s just disappointing to have a total lack of effort displayed.

This part comes with bolts, nuts and washers, which I really appreciated. The ones I took off from the old part had been scraped against the concrete, and the threads on those bolts had been damaged. Perfect fit, easy to change out, and all the parts you need for installation.

My snowblower was catching on the pavement. I looked for adjustments and found none. Then I googled the problem and learned that you need to replace the scraper bar periodically. Installation is an easy 5 minute job and now my snow blower works like new.

This fits perfectly but costs way too much for what it is...a piece of sacrificial plastic and some bolts. On the other hand, we also have a SnowJoe blower which needed its version of this blade, but which was unavailable for two years, and then only available if we ordered from the USA at a huge price for the part and shipping! At least one can buy repair parts for the EGO.

I bought 2 of these so I can have a spare. It arrived in EGO branded factory sealed package and fit well. It came with new bolts nuts and washers which was great as the old bolts were worn from dragging on the concrete. I added a pic showing the old and new blades. Tested after snow storm and works well.

My Ego snow blower has only been used in 1 Alberta winter so I did not think it would need a new scraper bar. But while clearing a 5cm dump I noticed that the blower was no longer clearing to the cement and seemed to be dragging on the metal box so decided to get a new scraper bar. It was delivered a couple of days early and because the weather is mild right now I thought I would install it. What a surprise. When I compared the new to the old it was obvious just how much the scraper bar and worn down. The new bar came with all necessary hardware, installation was not too difficult and the fit is perfect. The instructions talk of a 4mm wrench in one place and an 8mm socket in another. I used an 8mm socket and found it best to not tighten the bolts until all had been installed. This gives you the option to jiggle the bar around to get a good fit of the bolts on the bar and the frame. It has not snowed for a while so I cannot test it but the newer looks as if it will be a lot better than the worn old one.
