The ends are aluminum covered in a hard plastic. The hose is incredibly flexible and allows you to stretch with minimal resistance. This is the main gripe I have with the cheap box store flex hoses -- they do stretch but the line feels like it is under a lot of tension. This hose readily returns to a coil but easily extends. I haven't used it for very long but it is certainly a quality product and has been a joy to use.

Excellent quality recoil hose, typically cheap plastic recoil hoses are are your going to find. This is far from those cheap versions, coils up very nice. Durable high quality material. You get what you pay for when it comes to air hoses!
