Worked perfectly. FYI it comes with the gasket so no need to buy anything extra. I like that. Some of the units listed by other companies do not come with the gasket. So, heads-up if you are comparing to other brands.

The new gasket on the thermostat is slightly smaller than the original. Actually, the whole thermostat seems slightly smaller. Guess what that ends up meaning ... if you guessed "leaking" then you got it. I found this out the hard way of course. After putting it on and refilling the truck full of anti-freeze and water, I get a leak at the new thermostat and housing. What a pain. Wasted 2 jugs of antifreeze (not to mention the mess) which costs more than this thermostat. I have a 2010 Escalade which this part supposedly fits.Here's the other possibility ... the thermostat I got is not 34198 even though that's what I ordered. It looks nothing like my original and it doesn't look quite like the pictures here. I also checked it on Rockauto, which sells the same part and is listed for my truck, but it looks different than the one I got as well. So maybe they sent me out the wrong part? I won't know for sure because I'm sending this one back and not getting a replacement. I ordered a Dorman instead. So my 1 star review may be slightly unfair if I didn't get the part I was supposed to. I don't like leaving negative reviews so consider that 34198 may be a good thermostat for all I know. After the mess this has caused me though, it's pretty hard to be positive.
