I had a classic car side window that was badly scratched and this kit did the trick. You need to have patience and persistence as it took me 6 hours to get the glass perfect but it is perfect! I did both sides and would not hesitate to use this method on any car I own moving forward. You need a good plug in drill, lots of glass cleaner so you can clean, inspect and continue but there were no swirl marks, foggy patches and if your careful enough the glass will not distort. As they say several times check the temperature and do not rush. I rarely leave reviews but those of us out there with cars they no longer produce glass for this will save you!

This was a fantastic kit to learn how to polish glass. There is no fault with the kit what so ever, however don't expect flawless results without heaps of practice, as glass polishing is far more difficult than any other type of polishing including metal and paint. Can't wait to improve my skills as a glass polisher over time with more practice.

I purchased a custom 6mm (1/2”) piece of tempered glass and after installation noticed it had an ugly 6” long scratch! Rather than have to redo the install I tried to remove the scratch myself with baking soda, tooth paste and oven top cleaner all this did was create an even uglier cloud around the scratch. The scratch wasn’t very deep but I could feel it with my finger nail. I used the “light” (blue) sanding pad on the scratch to see if it would be enough to remove the scratch and it was; after a few rounds with the polishing pad the glass is crystal clear and the scratch is gone. The whole process took me around 2 hours; this was a quick/easy job so it is time consuming but it gets the job done when done properly. There is a very slight distortion when looking through the “fixed” area; I’m sure no one but myself will ever notice it but I would not recommend using this on a windshield for that reason. If you’ve got a simple scratch and some free time/patience to do a proper job I’d definitely recommend giving this a go. I’m very happy I won’t have to stare at the mess I made trying to fix the scratch with “home remedies”.

product does work, but you have to do the steps properly and be persistant to get good results. I found the velcro became detacted from the polishing pads when changing discs.

I was hesitant to try this but figured it was much cheaper than trying to replace my patio door glass. OH MY GOODNESS! Let me just say that I am completely impressed. I have a glass door that my dog jumps up to and scratches on the glass to let me know to let her back inside. After 9 years, the area where she scratched could barely ever be seen through. I started with the medium grit as it recommended and after burning through 2 sanding disks realized I wasn't getting through the scratches. So I switched to the course grit and I could actually watch the scratches disappear into the new hazy scratched area where I sanded. I went back over with the medium grit to sand out the course grit Mark's. I now realize I should have done this a bit more but still happy with result. Finally I switched to the fine grit. Since I had gone through all of my medium grit I had to sand more with the fine and actually ran out of those too. I began with the polishing compound and I can see through the window again. See attached pictures. I didn't get a full before picture but this is after I had began sanding and then you can see the after (the board is up there to keep her from scratching it again while we try to sell our house). Look at the difference. I was going to have to replace the high cost dual pane glass window if I sold my house because it was in such rough shape and this kit saved me all that money. I knew it was a stretch because the kit isnt really for such a large area. But it worked so well that I'm not going to replace the glass. There are still some light sanding scratch marks because I ran out of sanding disks but it looks amazing to me. I would recommend to anyone looking to do a large area to either buy 2 kits or get additional sanding disks. I could have gone and bought some hook and loop sand paper and cut it to size to get a perfect result, but at this point I dont care to make it look that good. This sanding is very monotonous and time consuming so be prepared to spend hours on an area as large as mine. But I actually found it therapeutic.. like cutting grass on a riding mower or Bush hogging a big field. I can't say enough good things about this product. I will say that rather than using the sanding disk flat on the window, that I got better results (and less of the disk "running" around on the glass) by hitting it at a small angle maybe 75 degrees off of the surface instead of 90. In working in fast moving up and down pattern as I work left to right across the glass. I could actually watch the deep scratches disappear. I found that doing this at night with the lights on inside allowed me to see the scratches better. Also having a light colored backdrop made it much easier to see.

I needed this product for a rather unusual purpose - in an area about 6x6 inches (not a windscreen or window). After four hours, I have a much improved surface. That review was yesterday - so here is my update following a couple more hours polishing. This kit is great and does what it says as far as I am concerned. I am a very fussy customer, but even as an amateur, after putting elbow grease into this job, it is as good as I could hope. As a kit, I think it would be worthwhile for the supplier to take out the atomiser, the cloth and the mask, and rather include a few of extra pads of each grade as this is what you are really after - and the rest is available in a supermarket or DIY store. The felt pads were sufficient. One last point, both on this kit and the prior one I found the velcro on the backing plate quickly delaminated. Nevertheless, it was easily pushed back to the right place and I found that it was sufficient to do the job. I think that was because my drill built up more speed than intended, so I fairly accept possible blame for that. All in all, a decent DIY product, fairly marketed and priced in my view. I would not have a problem buying or trying again. As the seller cautions, and others also do, polishing glass is not a straightforward quick process - and the more effort you put in, the better result. Do the steps properly, get the scratches out at each grade and then move on - and polish for a long time, and if it still does not look right, keep polishing, and you should get there. One tip: strangely, I found that with extra effort, once at the polishing stage some scuffs actually improved by rubbing them with the compound on the cloth - I think it is because I could get more focussed pressure on the precise point. However, note that I used this for uneven glass, and this may not be a good idea where you are looking for optical precision. That did not matter to me as the surface slightly undulates. Last tip, when you hit the polishing stage, drop the revs, it works better and you improve control - also, spend a lot of time on this part - and go back for more, it is the longest and most important stage. Good luck and enjoy, bizarrely, it is quite rewarding. I had to grind down, then work back to a clear surface, in all about 7 to 8 hours - but part of a heavy piece of glass, and it was definitely worth it. I want to do more.

I have a very old GE wall oven. It is a 1963 model.Over the years, the glass on the inside of the windowhad many deep scratches caused by years ofdragging baking dishes over it. The window is 7-1/2" x 12", 19mm x 300mmUsing the scratch kit I used 2 red, 2 green and 2 blue disks to grind out 99% of the scratches. The corners and edges of the window still have a few but the rest are completely gone.I used one felt polishing pad to polish out the fine grinding marks left by the blue pad.The oven window is very hard tempered glass and it took about two hours to get the job done.I am very happy with the result. My oven should now be good for another 50 yearsThe glass in the picture is hazy because there is crap inside between the panes.

I bought this to polish out some scratches on my 110 gallon fish tank. But all it did was just skip across the glass surface and left behind swirls of new scratches. After polishing for 30 mins I gave up. It did not work like video shows. I believe this product does not work on tampered glass. No where does it say that it doesn't work on tampered glass. I would not have bough this if I knew that. Buyer beware.
