I had run out of room on my rod holder stand largely because I am using trolling rods with big bulky level wind reels. I ordered this stand to augment what I already had.First off, the stand comes disassembled and you need to put it together. Easy to do, 2 screws and included the Allen key for assembly which took all of 2 minutes. Nice solid wood and has a varnish type finish.I was concerned that it had 4 holes marked large and thought my trolling rods may not fit, but the butts of the large rods fit in the smaller diameter holes. Rods that don't have a full cork or foam handle don't work well in in the holes as they dont fill the hole and tip forward in the stand. I won't get 16 trolling rods in the stand because of the reel sizes, but would be no issue getting 16 spinning rods in the standWhy 4 stars? For the space and the effort, they could have easily lengthened the post another 3 or 4 inches making the topmost holder further from the bottom panel. It would have increased the stability of the stand. Secondly, the price point is pretty high for what you are getting. All in all it's a pretty good stand and I am happy to have it. It will work for me.

The pics make it look like unfinished softwood, but it's actually some type of hardwood with a clear varnish finish. Decent looking, very solid when it's together.Puts a lot of fishing gear in a very small amount of space, and so nice it's not fixed to the wall, it's moveable.I've got a number of inexpensive rod holders, this is the nicest of the bunch.
