With a bit more work, I managed to get this hood to fit both the 23MM and the 56MM lenses...Sorry!

So those of you who have the 56 1.2 know it comes with this monstrous plastic hood that's basically the same size as the lens. It does it's job, you won't get any flare, but it's really a big piece to have on for those looking for a compact kit. So a little about my style. I don't use lens caps, and I avoid using UV filters. Lens caps slow you down, and inevitably get lost and are an all around pain. UV filters can be great if you shell out the cash for a good one, but even the best can cause some weird flare in extreme situations. And all they do is protect the front element from scratches (which by the way, light scratches on the front element will have next to no effect on image quality). If God forbid I drop my lens on concrete I doubt a thin piece of glass is going to do much to protect the thicker pieces of glass underneath of it. It will likely just shatter, and possible deform the filter thread. So my approach to protecting my lenses is to keep the hoods on them. Hoods stick out and provide enough space that unless your camera falls at the most unfortunate angle possible, they'll likely protect the glass. Plus they mount on the bayonet not the filter thread, which is much more robust and less likely to get jacked by being in a fall. Finally they serve an actual purpose shielding outside light and keeping flare to a minimum. So back to the 56 1.2. It's really not convenient or portable to walk around with that monstrous hood Fuji provides on it. It doubles the size of the lens. If you're doing anything where you're trying to be subtle, well good luck because it looks like you have a massive barrel pointed at your subject. It's just too damn big. So that's why I picked up this guy.The construction is excellent; it mounts with next to no play, feels very solid in hand and is all metal. I was concerned that it might cause some vignetting because the opening is really tight, almost seeming to overlap the front element on the top and bottom. But I've seen none, I think if it is vignetting anything it's in the part of the image circle the sensor doesn't see. It's also way smaller then the Fuji alternative and has a cool retroish look to it. It comes with a slip on cap that holds firmly in place, but I'll never use it. As for actually functioning as a hood, from what I've seen so far it's every bit as good as the Fuji. If you shoot with the 56 1.2 I can't recommend this hood enough, a really solid replacement for the stock hood at an excellent price.EDIT: Upon closer inspection I see that it's not quite all metal construction. The bayonet mount that sits inside the metal filter is actually plastic. This honestly doesn't bother me a bit. Like I said in the above I use hoods first and foremost for protection. Having a plastic mount means that if somehow this guy get dropped the plastic will likely give long before the metal on the lens. IMO that's ideal, I'd much rather pay $30 to replace the lens then wind up with the hood attachment bent out of shape.

Well made product, but the fact that you cannot install the Lens Hood when you have a Filter on the lens is a killer. Should be noted in the description. I think I will send mine back. Too bad, I like the Hood design,

A good, robust, alternative to the Fuji original lens hood and provides good protection from lens glare. The only downside being that if you have a filter on your lens this hood is a tight, if not difficult, fit that left the metal of my UV filter rings scratched. It is possible to get this on over a filter, you just have to line it up very carefully and wriggle it over the filter. I purchased two of these hoods for my 23mm and 56mm lenses and both have the same problem with clearance. The hood for the 16mm version by Haoge had plenty of clearance to allow for a filter but not this 23mm version.
