It beeps but can't find anything. Played with the levels so it wasn't so sensitive but couldn't find anything. Not helpful!

Owning a larger detector, and doing a lot of travel, I have found this unit to be very small and light. This allows me to place it pretty much anywhere max as my glove box, my carry-on bag, or my pocket. It has excellent range and the features are very easy to use. I am extremely pleased with this detector and use it all the time. I just drop it into my pocket and head off to where I am going. I am very happy to have it with me the other day. After shopping in a small mall I returned to my car and found my car had being tagged with something under the wiper. I pulled the detector out of my backpack and performed a sweep of the car. The unit had no trouble finding an RFID device hiding in my wheel well. I snatched the RFID and drove away. This JMDHKK K18+ RF GS Defector saved me from a possible car jacking. It goes everywhere with me now.

This is a very interesting product. It seems to have a wide range of potential spy equipment, covered. Or rather, un-covered!Will this device detect spy technology that organizations like the CIA or the KGB use? I have my doubt! But then I doubt the vast majority of people will ever come into contact with that kind of technology. I would think that most of the threats we common folk might encounter, would be more like voyeuristic threats, such as hotel rooms and such. That being the case, the devices being used are most likely using RF as a means to transmit pictures and sound. This device - the JMDHKK Model K18+ - works in that range.In fact, the RF range of the Model K18+, ranges from 1MHz to 8GHz - a very wide selection. And yes, it does detect various RF signals. You do need to be relatively close to the source, so I have discovered that "sweeping a room" is not done in mere seconds, but rather in many minutes.The same holds true for the magnetic finder. In this mode, it not so much the device you are looking for, but rather the method of attachment being used. In this case, it is a magnet. That's the target you are looking for. Again, it does work, but you need to be close.The final mode of detection is to actually "see" a camera lens. With this, you are using a series of six red LED's to scan the room, looking for a reflection of the actual lens of the spy camera. A darker room helps, and again, yes, this mode does work.Are there more sensitive detectors on the market? I am sure there are. But I am also sure the price point is nowhere near this unit! The manual included with the detector is very good. It not only explains how to use the unit, but also the theory of the detectors abilities.I don't know if it would be used for guarding state secrets, but for most of us, it provides peace of mind when traveling or at home or office.

I bought it for traveling. I tested it first at home. It was beeping more and more frequently when it got closer to router, phone and the security cams. And in the hotel in the US I tried it to detect, it did not beep which meant no hidden spy cams. It gives worryfree that worth to have it.
