Way nicer than expected! I needed a small, light rotary tool for Shohin (really tiny) bonsai. This looked like it would serve the purpose but I had no idea it would be this nice. It is far easier to do fine detail work with this than a corded rotary tool that weighs several times as much. It took a little time to figure out the collet and case, but it revealed itself with a little effort. The case is pure genius. There are two accessory cases with pegs like Legos that align them and strong magnets that hold them together as a single unit. There is a tube that holds the rotary tool. The tool pops into the tube and a spring pops it out when you push. The storage tube clicks securely into the combined carrying cases and snaps off just as easily. Everything you need (except the USB-C charging cord) is in one compact unit for storage and carrying. The collet opens by turning the end of a black tip and holding the base of the tip.In use, the tool is perfect. Light and easy to use with no cord in the way. Precision work is much easier. Perfect!

I'll start by saying that this tool is very cleverly designed. The overall concept of it being a portable, self-contained unit is quite impressive. I also appreciate its compact size. Initially, I only assessed the speeds and torque using finger pressure on the collet, which wasn't a fair evaluation of the actual torque during usage. Once I began using it in real-world situations, I found that it delivered substantial torque even at lower speeds. One unusual feature I noticed is how it compensates for torque. When pressure is released, the RPMs increase before levelling back down, making it inconsistent in terms of steady RPMs. It has a significant amount of torque for such a small tool, although the high-end RPMs are about 2/3 compared to standard rotary tools. The instructions do not provide information about the collet or charging, but it is easy to figure out. Because the on/off button and speed slider are positioned further back on the tool's body, I didn't accidentally turn it on or off or unintentionally change the speed. I also like that it can be used while plugged in—this is a very sensible feature.I noticed that the RPMs can vary slightly depending on how you hold the tool, although this only happens when it is idling without any pressure applied to a workpiece. The accessory bits are basic but good quality. The tool feels good in the hand, but I wouldn't want to use it for longer than 1/2 hr periods as it would start to feel heavy and awkward. Extended use calls for a flex shaft. Overall, it's a nice tool for light to medium-duty polishing and material removal. I appreciate its clever design and compactness. Its current base price of $129.99 is significantly more expensive than other equally capable rotary tools, but if you are looking for compactness or a unique design, this one stands out.

The design of how they have made this rotary tool and storage containers is outstanding so I’m giving it 5 stars just for that. There are two rectangular boxes that come with the accessories, and then a storage tube for the rotary. There are two storage boxes have magnets on each corner and “snap” together for easy storage, and the storage tube clips in between the two pillars between the storage boxes. There are rotary tool pushes into the tube and locks in place, and to retrieve it you push it in again and there is a spring that pushes it out. Kodoo’s to whoever engineered the storage for this as they deserve an A+. Now for the rotary tool itself…The rotary tool is charged through a USB C port located in the end of it. There is a sliding switch to control the speed of the rpm’s as well as an on / off switch. The sliding switch works well and the speed of the rotation changes when sliding as I can hear the tone change. There is a good selection of grinding, polishing and cutting accessories/ bits that come with this. The end chuck is loosened and tightened by two dials at the end. No need for a locking mechanism, just a little finger strength. My plan is to use this in doing bark carvings for the smaller details. I haven’t used it yet so I can’t provide anything on torque, but given the size, which is just larger than a regular pen I’m not expecting to use this for larger jobs, it is suited more for fine details or small to get places.

This R-A04 mini cordless rotary tool comes with a Snapbloq magnetic accessory case that also has a slot for the tool itself. If one already has other SnapBloq cases, then this will fit right in with them. I do not have any others, and I find it a unique and interesting design. I do wish though that the bits would be held in place inside the case rather than just rolling around in their individual partitions and possibly banging the bit heads against each other along with against the walls during transport. The 38 bits and accessories included are a decent quality though and usable and have shanks of 2.35mm (3/32").The tightening function on the rotary tool works just fine and holds the bits well. It does have a collet inside that clamps down on the bits when tightened. I would have liked to have additional collets included, so that the tool could be used with smaller drill bits as well. The tool is lightweight and easy to hold, but it is obviously underpowered compared to larger rotary machines. But for its size, it has a decent amount of torque and power, and the battery seems to be pretty good.I would have preferred it to have a display that included the current speed and battery level. The speed slider does adjust the speed but not by very much from 15000 to 22000rpms. I would prefer it to be able to go down to a lower range say from 6000 to 22000rpm range. There is only a blinking light on the back where the unprotected USB-C port is, which blinks when charging and then goes out when fully charged. I would prefer it to just be a solid light to indicate a full charge, because with no light I am just left wondering if it was fully charged. The instructions are basic, and it would be good if it explained the use of the various bits and accessories versus materials for beginners. There is no place to store the charging cord in the case though. This easy-to-use mini rotary tool would be good for small crafts and miniatures. The case does look fancy and is a good quality. If one already uses other Snapbloq cases/tools, then this addition is an easy choice.

If you have need for a mini-Dremel type tool, this is the one to get. It has a claimed speed of up to 22000 rpm (I have no way to confirm this, my standard Dremel claims 33,000 rpm) that gets small projects done with its included 30+ bits and accessories. As important as the tool itself, is the kit. It's imperative to keep the 37 included bits and accessories organized and located so they will be readily available when needed, and this is where this kit is best. The 2 included plastic storage boxes attach to each other with magnets, and the tool itself slides into a storage tube that attaches to the boxes with secure clips. This kit matches and attaches to the Hoto MiniDrill kit, which I have also reviewed.

This is a great rotary tool only small enough to go where others cannot! A lot of times when you are using a rotary tool, you want a really small tool to get into a restricted location. Well, this is the perfect tool for that. It is slim and the rotary speeds will have you through with your job in a jiffy! The rotary speeds are 15,000 to a blazing 22,000 rpm's. It can be run on batteries if that is more convenient for you or left plugged in for constant use. There is a thoughtful and useful assortment of grinding wheels, polishing wheels, deburring and drilling tools, you name it, if you need it then it is probably here! Buy one of these today and you will be so pleased you did!

This company's tagline is "we make cool tools" and I must say this rotary tool fits that description. Its cool. It comes packaged like an iPhone, and all the bits and such are held in this modular magnetic block system. More on that later. It includes the light, easy to maneuver, drill body, a screw down chuck system, and lots of bits. Its in no way a "dremel" tool like I'm used to - you aren't cutting through drywall with this thing. But its absolutely perfect for hobbies - I build plastic and wood scale models, with lots of tiny parts, and this is perfect for that use. The Dremel variety is too big and, frankly, too powerful - this has just enough power to sand flash off of small parts, or drill tiny holes through small wooden parts. It has a several things I wish were different.- First, it doesn't have a light on the business end of the tool - their other products (like screwdrivers and handheld drills do), so I don't know why it was omitted here; would have been great to light up small hard to see parts.- Second, I wish it came with more than one chuck. It comes with one that only fits a certain diameter shaft, and thus any other drills or sanding bits you may have might not fit.- Third, on the topic of bits, I wish it had a few more drill bits and fewer sanding/polishing bits and bobs - I have other drill bits, but see sentence above on lack of replacable chucks.- And lastly, the whole magnetic block system is clever, but sort of confusingly overkill. I guess its neat you can stack the blocks and clip the tool holder onto the side, but it took a bit of fiddling around to get it all to snap together so seems like a little case would have been just as good.Would recommend for hobbyists...
