Do your homework to determine the optimal mounting height. With a tall room the 36” was the appropriate choice.

Bought this to use with a non "Original" Hunter fan (the Dempsey) despite Hunter specifically saying not to as I couldn't find any of the normal Hunter downrods in this length and colour for a price that wasn't crazy. The difference between the two is the Original (this one) is threaded at both ends where the rods for non Original fans is only threaded at the fan end and not at the top. Since this Original rod is threaded at the top it is slightly narrower than its counterpart and doesn't fit tightly in the hanging ball of a non Original Hunter fan like the proper rod would. However I found wrapping the top threads in electrical tape to increase the diameter of the threaded pipe made it fit tightly in the hanging ball. I have no regrets purchasing it but just be aware you'll have to fiddle with it or potentially end up with a wobbly fan if you buy this for a non "Hunter Original" fan.

These do exactly as they’re advertised to do. We ordered 36” black and they are a perfect match to our matte black lighting and fans. Screw-in type and easily attached without issue. Delivered in two days. Had to return a few because I accidentally ordered them a second time and the seller made it very simple, plus no return shipping cost. Very pleased. The threading could use a bit more precision. I had a hard time screwing it in and locking it in position. I had to sort of slide a screw driver passing through 2 upper holes to use it as a turning lever so I can have a force to get it in place. Once I had it locked in place it was sturdy and doesn't seem to get loose.
